Rachel is a surface pattern designer with a passion for colour and craft. She paints, draws and photoshops, but most of all she stitches. When she's not doing any of those things you'll find her running around the Northamptonshire countryside with her sproodle dog Louie.
In 2012 she graduated from Norwich University of the Arts with a First Class Degree in Textiles. She was awarded the title of Textile Study Group Graduate of the Year and was selected to exhibit with the Embroiderer's Guild Graduate Showcase at the Knitting & Stitching shows in the same year. She also won a work placement at prestigious interiors textile company Zoffany, which she loved.
She's part of Studio Flock, a design collective working with recent graduates, and is thrilled to have her designs stocked by Liberty, Heal's, John Lewis and Studio Four NYC to name a few.
Collecting, cross-stitching, grids and symbols are big influences in her work, which is often identified by her eclectic use of colour and handmade textures. She finds inspiration from a variety of sources all around her, from vintage fabrics to daily walks with the dog. Her hands are never still and she's constantly creating! Pattern design is a true obsession, and she recently graduated from Modules 1-3 of the Art & Business of Surface Pattern Design courses to feed her addiction!
Rachel's work has been featured in a number of publications including Trend Bible, Flow Magazine, Oh Comely, Mollie Makes, CrossStitcher and interior magazines such as Elle Decoration and House Beautiful.
